ARS 13-456 makes it a crime to have a fake controlled substance. A controlled substance is a drug or medication that is tightly controlled by the government because it can be abused or cause addiction. Examples would be Adderall or OxyContin.
If you are caught using or intending to use imitation controlled substances, the state of Arizona will aim to find you guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor.
If you are successfully charged with a class 2 misdemeanor, you may be liable to pay fines of up to $750, or in more serious cases, face jail time of up to 4 months.
