ARS 13-3214 makes prostitution illegal.


Prostitution is generally a class 1 misdemeanor, punishable by up to 6 months in jail and fines of up to $2,500. A first time offender is required to spend at least 15 days in jail and a second time offender is required to spend at least 30 days in jail. A person convicted of prostitution for a third time will spend at least 60 days in jail and will be required to complete a court ordered education or treatment program.
For a person already convicted of at least 3 violations, prostitution is a class 5 felony with a minimum 180 day sentence. The maximum sentence for a class 5 felony is 2.5 years and a person may face fines of up to $150,000.
